Service Description

This course has been modified for COVID-19. Due to high demand we have decided to change the package. Please see details below. In Conjunction with Warrior Training this two day course in Scotland will teach you essential winter skills including: use of crampons and ice axes, movement in winter conditions, avalanche awareness and safety. Day 1- We meet at Ellis Brigham in Fort William and check everyone has the equipment and supplies needed. We then head into the mountains and find a location to practice skills with crampons and axes on easy ground and techniques to cover steep technical ground. This first day is to acclimatize to the conditions and adjust to the new equipment. Expect a 5-8 hour walk on this first day with a plan to finish at 1630. Day 2 - Setting off early we aim to put the skills learnt into practice by summiting Ben Nevis. If conditions and weather are very bad we may decide to summit an alternative peak or explore a different area. Setting off from Fort William again we make our way up the long zig zag path leading to the summit. Snow and ice can vary at this time of year so we may find ourselves using crampons often depending on the snow level.
